Heron in the Wild

In keeping with yesterday's nature theme, here's a shot of a beautiful white heron.

This picture was also taken at the golf course. There are several big birds that hunt in the water hazards. Hopefully I'll get a shot of one of the blue herons to share one of these days.

Gator on the 5th

Today a small alligator came out for some sun at the golf course. It was the first time I've seen one all the way out of the water here in Mississippi.

He was a little beauty. Although I was a bit nervous about hitting my ball, luckily it wasn't too close!

Wright's Mill

We are thinking of buying (or possibly renting) a house here in Jackson.

This is one of the neighborhoods I am particularly fond of. Nothing says class like a hokey water wheel!

A Summer Treat!

Summer has hit Mississippi and that means it's time to break open a refreshing watermelon.

This scene takes me back to my childhood when my sister and I used to take part in watermelon seed spitting contests at my Mom's annual work picnic. Ahhh, the good old days!
