November Theme Day: Books

This is my first post with the new camera I bought with my birthday money from my parents and my gran. My husband and I have a trip to China planned this month, so I thought a new camera would be just the thing... who knows when I'll get back that far east again? I'd better get some good photos!

Anyway, the Bookshelf is a local used/new bookstore. They have a pretty good selection, especially in the romance and mystery sections (not what I usually look for, but it seems people are always trading in those types of books).

Please check out some of the other book posts from around the world on this theme day!

Last Look at Artwork...

This weekend my husband and I have tickets for To Kill A Mockingbird at New Stage. I'll let you know if there are any new paintings or other artworks on display. For now, I hope you'll enjoy this water scene.

Happy Halloween!!!!

More Artwork

Although I wouldn't really want to hang this picture in my house, I am always attracted to anything ballet related. I spent many years as a child studying dance and even wanted to be a professional dancer. Although that dream didn't pan out, things have not turned out too badly for me.

Artwork

Newstage theater's concession/interval area doubles as a gallery during main stage shows. This painting is allegedly a scene from Munich. I have been to Munich a couple of times and I don't really see it but it is a nice painting nonetheless. I'll show some more paintings from the gallery tomorrow.

Also, heartfelt thanks go out to Evry Daily Photo for the Kreativ Blogger award. As part of the deal, here are a list of six things that make me happy and six of my favorite blogs. Neither of these lists is in any particular order.

A good score in golf.
Chocolate anything.
Getting something in the mail that's not a bill or junk.
Finishing a good book.
A cozy Saturday morning breakfast with my husband.
Watching Law & Order.

A Sweet Transvestite

Chad King played the role of Frank. He added a bit of Southern Charm to the role, which was quite appropriate!

Rocky Horror Picture Show

Remember I told you awhile back about the auditions for Rocky Horror? I did get offered a part in the chorus, but I decided to do Murder on the Nile instead.

In any case, I went to see the show this weekend. Both my dh and I really enjoyed it. It was performed in the old Pix movie theater in the Fondren District of Jackson. Everyone had to bring their own chairs as the theater is gutted. The stage was quite creative, I was really impressed with the use of video and a minimal set to convey the story. All of the actors brought so much energy - overall it was a great show. I sort of wish I had been a part of it.

Birthday Present

Since so many of you asked what I received for my birthday - here it is! A brand new RED golf pushcart. The cart I had before was an older dragging model with only two wheels. I find that pushing is much easier and it has many added features, like a cup-holder, a mesh bag for balls and tees and much more. So far, I'm loving it!
