Happy Valentine's Day!

It seems that Valentine's Day is getting more and more commercial. I think flowers, cards and candy are just fine, but stuffed octopuses may be going too far!

Some of my colleagues at work brought in pastries and cupcakes today. My best buddy even brought me some strawberries because he knows I don't like junk food. I thought that was really nice. Valentine's Day doesn't really mean that much to me, but it is nice to be remembered.

Rainy Days

We had a bout of severe weather this afternoon. Of course, you can't see much from this picture, but there were high winds, rain and plenty of thunder and lightning. The power went out in our office and we had to use the generator. We also heard that a Wendy's sign fell down just a few miles down the road. Although I don't like being at work, I was glad to be inside and out of danger.

ETA: Here's a look at some of the damage that happened nearby. Luckily it skipped over us.

Frosty Morning

We've had some chilly mornings recently. Temperatures have gone down to freezing at night, leaving a light layer of frost on the ground and my car!

If you look closely, you'll see some pretty red cardinals in the tree. I guess they were trying to warm up too!
