My husband and I went furniture shopping this weekend. As we've already browsed some of the local stores, we knew ahead of time what to expect - not much of what we like and lots of really traditional pieces. However, we didn't expect a carousel!
This carousel is located inside Miskelly, the city's largest furniture store. Don't get your hopes up, it's not for sale. Kids (and adults) pay one dollar for a spin and all the money goes to children's charities like Make-A-Wish or the Children's Cancer Fund.

Make my day (it has been lousy thus far) and tell me you had a go. I tried recently in Rennes with the assistance of a borrowed child but they said Non. Typical.
I did not take a spin myself, nor did I jump on the myriad of perfect fluffy beds throughout the store.
I did have a glass of free iced tea though. And it was fresh-brewed, not that icky mix stuff. :)
aaah, you'll should have had a spin, it seems like fun nonetheless

It's not as nice as the Famous Meridian Dentzel Carousel, but it is beautiful. MisKellys is something...
Inside the store? Now neat, and the money goes to great causes.
i've loved carousels since i was a kid...i wonder if it ever gets crowded with passengers...
Carousels were my favorite thing to ride when I was small, and I wouldn't mind riding one today!
That is so pretty...I love all of the detail work. And it supports such wonderful charities, too!
Maybe you've seen the big carrousel in Paris near the station "Les Halles". It looks alike this one.
