The Renaissance is Jackson's latest shopping area. It's one of those "outdoor" malls with lots of pedestrian areas and ambiance. It's actually not too bad, it sort of reminds me of Val d'Europe - an area in the Parisian suburbs near to where I used to live.
Right now there are not a lot of shops open there. Many of the upscale stores have moved out of the traditional mall and relocated here. I hope they will fill up with some more bars and restaurants though because it would be a really nice place to hang out in the evenings.

j'aime beaucoup cette fontaine, il y a un air de fĂȘte.
I love this fountain, there is a festive atmosphere.
We have a new outdoor shopping complex, Midtown. It's nice because if you're lucky. you can park right in front of the door. We're glad for the new stores, but like Jackson, many of the stores are just relocating from other malls.
we have an outdoor 'outlet' mall in Terrell... i like the cheaper prices of the outlet mall, but the indoor air conditioning in a regular mall is nice too! the fountain in our photo looks neat!
Shopping is going full circle since my childhood. Back then, we just had downtown. Then, businesses started building on the bypasses. Then, there were malls. Now we are heading back toward shopping centers with a downtown feel. So why didn't we just stay downtown to begin with?
