A photographic look at life in Jackson, Mississippi and the surrounding area
Pearl River
We hiked all the way down the Pearl River. We had a really nice view and the weather was perfect. I don't think the sky could have been bluer. It created a beautiful reflection.
So nice to see the Pearl, New Stage, the Pix (which I knew as the Capri when I was growing up in Jackson), and Sal and Mookie's (which has opened since I left Jackson). Those two wonderful guys on the billboard are the first two restaurant/cooking mentors of my two sons--Lamont started at Bravo as a busboy, Leland as a dishwasher. When they came to Jackson in June, 2006, to move Mama and me to Portland, we dined out one last time at Bravo, a wonderful evening.
