Gee's Bend had a two week run at New Stage Theater here in Jackson. I really wanted to see it, but unfortunately things just didn't work out. I heard it was very moving with fine performances by the entire cast. Ah well... you can't do everything.

Does this by any chance have a connection to the community of women who made those marvelous quilts?
Yes, Kate, the play is based on the quilters of Gee's Bend Alabama. Some of the real women were in attendance and gave a talk after one of the shows. There were also several original Gee's Bend quilts on display in the lobby.
