On our way back, we stopped for a few hours in Pensacola Beach. We thought we left Destin early enough to get in a little beach time and beat the tunnel traffic. We were wrong, but we enjoyed our last hours in the sun and sand. My question is, what did people do before they had umbrellas and spring-into-place tents? I don't remember having so much gear when I was young.

dur à regarder, pour nous qui sommes dans des bureaux ;o)) vite, envie de prendre mon maillot de bain et de profiter de cette plage
It must take several trips to and from the car to get all that gear functioning. My wife and I have a rule for traveling over holidays;don't.
We got severely sunburned!
Lovely shot. Glad you got to enjoy the beach for a while.
It appears the auto-post function is working again since I scheduled this one last night and it actually came up this morning.
Woo-hoo!!
Love the Emerald Coast! Re: umbrellas - I think they've been around for a long time, but we never much worried about that stuff when we were kids and you never thought about skin cancer!
When I was young all we needed was a towel...
I still go to the beach with a towel and some sun lotion. Now that I'll be on holiday the weather is foul again. This beach has way too many buildings lining it for my liking!
I guess it used to be way cooler then...we are really putting a lot of strain on the environment these days...
Its been so long since I was at the beach, I dont think sping into place tents didnt exist.
I want to be there right now!
And all I need is a water and sand-proof pouch for my eyeglasses…
