The Welty House sits in the heart of Belhaven, just across the street from the private college that bears its name. I've always been curious about it and had sort of formed a picture in my mind of what it would look like. The real thing is more impressive than what I had conjured up.
Tours of the home are available, but must be scheduled in advance through the Eudora Welty Society. That's something that I really need to take the time to do, I'm sure it would be very interesting!

I wonder if it has ghosts? Looks like a beautiful home.
Nah no ghosts, I would ask a priest to bless it then it's gone. Looks like a great place to live - in my other life - I can just aford a flat.. :)
The first time I heard of Eudora Welty was when, in the 90s, I started to use the email program named after her.
I lived in Belhaven for several years, and remember when she lived there. I felt a certain sense of awe each time I drove by. Lovely home.
Looks like a lovely home indeed. Even the lawn looks gorgeous! Looking forward to your pictures of the interior when you get around to visiting.
c'est une belle maison, elle me fait penser a la maison principale qui se trouve dans le Bronx a Wave Hill. On attend les photos de l'interieur
Oh yes, how good to see Miss Eudora's house. Am looking forward to the photos you take when you take the tour. My all time favourite southern writer and a wonderful photographer too.
How pretty! You must take the tour and get some pictures.
I'm sure it would be an interesting tour!
You definitely need to take the tour. Wish I could go!
Fine-looking house. Literary-looking house, if there is such a thing.
I have never read her work, but think I'd better start soon.
If you do take a tour, hopefully they'll let you take photos.

Great to see, I also learned about Eudora from the eMail Program (in about '86....), it used to be the best ever, for a long while
