The Fairview Inn

The Fairview Inn is located in Jackson's other historic district - Belhaven. We had one of our murder mystery shows at the restaurant here last weekend. It was a great crowd - more than one hundred people. And they loved the show!

I'm going to start a new label for Belhaven photos. I've got some more pictures of this lovely neighborhood to come!

"To the manor born" or something like that. The inn is very patriotic!

Looks like a fine piece of Antebellum architecture.

I'm pretty certain that this is the home I visited when I was in high school. I was with my parents, and at that time it was a private residence. The owners were acquaintances of my folks, and we went for a visit after church one evening, I think. I recall they showed us around the downstairs, and led us to a room on the far left of the house. It had ballooning draperies billowing from the ceiling. The adults were served wine, although my dad is a tee-totaler. It felt to me like one of the last vestiges of relaxed, simple Southern elegance.

My husband and I spent the weekend there a few years ago with my parents for their anniversary. We had the best time sitting out on the huge verandah in the back. We were supposed to go to dinner and a movie, but we were enjoying the conversation so much we jest ended up doing dinner!

What a beautiful building! This is what they call "colonial," right? I'm assuming you were part of the murder mystery show...

By the way, did Claudette leave much rain in your area?

This is actually a post-bellum building. The main building was finished around 1908 and there have been add-ons ever since.

MK & Cookingbride: How wonderful to have stayed in/seen the home. I only saw the restaurant portion. We didn't get to tour the house or anything. But I hope to come back!

Jacob: Claudette did not leave us so much as a drop. But that's ok by me... we've had enough wet weather for awhile. Hope all is well down your way though!

That is a really nice looking building. So grand and historic. It looks like a perfect place for a mystery.

So glad Claudette passed you by. We didn't get anything, either, other than our usual afternoon storms. And it looks like Ana and Bill will both miss us...

Whew! But I've still got my fingers crossed...too many times we were told not to worry and then got clobbered!

This is a gorgeous old mansion!

I so envy you your well-maintained historic districts. I wish the City of Manila would declare similar areas so the few remaining old houses won't disappear forever.

Glad you had another great show!

Oh, what a pretty place! How fun to have gotten to be in on a murder mystery with such a good turn out of people! I hope that you solved it!
