Every Little Swallow...

My squirrel-proof feeder is still keeping the long-tailed rodents away. I'm very impressed with it and also am saving a lot on bird feed!

This Carolina chickadee is a frequent visitor, but for some reason he doesn't usually end up in my pictures (or at least not in the good ones). So I was very pleased to get this shot of him. His song is always a welcome wake-up call in the morning. Pretty soon I'll even be able to sleep with the windows open again so I'll really hear his song in all it's glory.

He is staring straight into the camera, ready to fly away!

Looks just like the Black-Capped Chickadee that we have on our porch.

B: The only way to tell a black-capped chickadee apart from a Carolina Chickadee is their song. I have not done any comparison, I'm just assuming it's the Carolina variety since they tend to live down in the south.

Wish you could record their song too — I can't tell one bird from another! Hmmm… make that: I can but I have no names for them!

I have quite a few Carolina chickadees at my feeder too and they are so quick! I love listening to them. I'm also glad to hear the feeder is working out so well!

I think he's posing for the camera. So glad your squirrel defeater is working...we'll have to try one of those...

Yeah, won't it be great to open the windows once again?

Hilda: I will try putting the camera on the video setting again. Most of the videos did not come out well, but maybe I can get some song.

Jacob: I got my feeder from Lowe's for about $20. They also have a fancier version at Wild Birds Unlimited, but of course with a higher price tag.
