Five Guys

We've got a new food chain that's got people lining up here in Jackson - it's Five Guys Burgers and Fries. My husband and I found a not-too-busy moment and slipped in. He had their signature burger and I had a grilled cheese.

The food was okay, but not something I'd queue for twenty minutes for. I did like the design of the restaurant though and how they used bags of Idaho potatoes to delineate the queue area. I just wonder how long this fad will last.

As long as they don't skimp on quality, burger places should last a long time.

j'ai pas tout bien compris, ils ne vendent que des cacahouètes ?

We have Three Guys from New York Pizza here, but I've never tried it. That's interesting that they use the bags of potatoes like that. I guess that means their fries are all fresh and not frozen.

Olivier:Rien à voir avec des cacahouètes. C'est un nouveau "burger joint". Ils mettent des sacs de patates dans la salle pour délinéer la queue. Parfois la queue est en dehors du resto !

It won't last long unless they begin putting out a quality one product. I've never heard of it, so maybe it's a chain in certain areas...

Probably owned by General Mills!

I really do enjoy their burgers, but I don't care for the fries--very bland to me.

eonyc: Are the lines long in NYC? The hubs liked the burger, but he said it would not be worth waiting in a line snaking outside the door for. We were lucky to sneak in when there were only around 12 people in front of us. :S

Lines for burgers? They have to be very good to last! Nice idea the bags of potatoes...

C'est rigolo ! Quand j'étais dans l'Idaho l'année dernière, j'ai appris que c'était le grenier à patates des Etats-Unis, j'aimais bien les plaques minéralogiques "potato state" !

«Louis», being une vache is opposed to beef burgers of ANY kind!

We have a 5 guys in Ttown too. I'm with you, it seems more of a novelty than a place I'd wait for - a bit too greasy for my taste.

The fries (fresh cut and well-seasoned)were superior to the burgers in my opinion. I was prepared for greatness, but alas, tend to agree that it wasn't on par with the long wait. The business is run very smoothly though, and the staff was very kind!
