A photographic look at life in Jackson, Mississippi and the surrounding area
Hibiscus
My Cajun Princess hibiscus finally bloomed! It's rather sad it's so late in the season though. Last year my summer was filled with these beautiful blooms.
I tried some effects on the flower. What do you think?
What a beautiful bloom...certainly worth waiting for, but I can understand your disappointment that there weren't more, much earlier in the season. I prefer the top photo, the real thing.
Virginia: The hibiscus is in a pot which I take into the garage when it gets too cold outside. I'm wondering if next year I should bring it out earlier so it will have time to bloom.

Hard to improve on nature but neat effect.
I like 'em both. One should not cancel out the other.
Our hibiscus are just starting to bloom, too...not much of anything all summer. They'll be beautiful all winter if we don't get two freezes in a row.
Will you be able to bring it inside or is it in the ground? Gorgeous.

Both are pretty, but I do like the top one best!
I completely agree with B Squared!

I love the color of your hibiscus, the top is my favorite but then I'm a purist!
Real one is so pretty...but for the artistic flair have to say there is something outstanding for number two.
Il est magnifique ! J'aime bien le noir et blanc partiel, ça fait une photo très artsy, mais pour le plaisir des sens, la première reste plus belle !
I love it!
