Horse in the Fountain

The Renaissance shopping center has a lot of nice details including this fountain. By day I find it a bit ostentatious, but it's very pretty by night.

Ostentation is not a great sin in a shopping center and at night the fountain is really beautiful.

I love it! I almost expect him to have a fish tail and see Neptune rising behind him!

Looks like a fountain one would see in Europe!

A sculpture that captures well the movement of the horse. Your comment made me think this is what they call the difference between day and night!

Lighting can really add so much to a fountain.

Leif:I think it's supposed to look European. It's billed as a shopping center with an Italian flare! The streets are called via Centrale and stuff like that. It's all a bit too fakey for my taste.

By night, it does have a golden glow.

Halcyon, I agree. It's all designed to capture that authentic imitation Italian flare. Lends a cosmopolitan feel to uh, central Mississippi.

I do like the horse statue. The lighting at night really flatters it.

Nina: You hit the nail right on the head!! Imitation authentic... that's it!
