Quite simply, one of my favorite birds.

They are pretty birds. We see a lot of them working the palm trees just off our deck. They can do some damage, though.
It certainly does have a big red head! Up at lake texoma there was a woodpecker like this that kept trying to peck on a telephone utility pole... He didn't make much headway though ;)
This is a perfect photo of a gorgeous bird!

Better at the bird feeder than peeking on a tree or the side of your house!
What wonderful colors! I didn't even know woodpeckers came in different colors. Duh.
