I took this picture on Friday evening when the snow was coming down and dusting everything with its white powder. I used the flash on this photo, I usually don't like night shots with flash, but I think this one didn't turn out too bad. I just hope this will be the last snow we get for the year - once is plenty for me!!
PS: I've opened a new blog where I will be posting photos from my travels both near and far. I feel like I have so many lovely photos from the places I've visited and no where to post them! I hope you'll stop by often to check it out. You can get to it by clicking here or clicking the link I've posted in the links section on my toolbar.

deja de la neige, tu as de la chance et cela donne une belle photo, contrasme neige et couleur de la rose
brrrrr!!!!!
The snow probably meant the end of that rose blossom!
What "Global Warming?!"
At first I thought this was a red and white camellia. Now I see the snow. Lucky y'all! We missed getting any.
What global warming?
That's really pretty! Looking forward to checking out your new blog.
I don't like using flash either, but your use here worked out beautifully... no washed out white of the snow (how did you do it!). Perfect!
And I didn't think you folks got snow down there. We're here in Rochester on the frigid banks of Lake Ontario, and we haven't even had snow yet (just barely dodged the Western edge of that massive East Coast snow track.
Louis and B Squared: I wouldn't mind some global warming today! There's no more snow in the forecast though, just cold and rainy.
Rambling Round: I think you're the lucky one! I don't like the white stuff, but at least it melted quickly!
Sparkle Mirror: I actually didn't do anything, just used the automatic mode on my camera. But I'm sure the user has something to do with the outcome as well. :)
A masterpiece of contrast and a very nice picture. I can use my camera quite well but when it comes to the flash... I set it to auto! And don't like it much, either.
That is often a winning combo, roses and snow, well done.
This is great, Halcyon. I don't think I've ever seen snow on a rose before. It's an excellent photo!
Nice shot, I think the flash was just right.
