I found this heart on the golf course. I don't know what kind of plant this is, but the shape and color of these leaves was perfect!

Edited to add: Apparently this plant is called caladium.
Despite some airport delays, I got back safely from Germany yesterday. It was great to see my MiL and all our friends. The weather was cool the first couple of days. So much so that I had to go out and buy a jacket! But it warmed up towards the end of the week and we got to enjoy plenty of time in my MiL's garden. I'll have some pictures up on my travel blog in the coming weeks. Funnily enough, I didn't get one piece of comment spam the whole 10 days! I guess my warning worked.

Now it's time to catch up on all the work that piled up in my absence!

un beau coeur naturel
I've seen these plants before - lovely! My mother would know its name!
These are caladiums - a shade loving plant...this is sure pretty.
It's a beauty, and how fun to come across it unexpectedly.
Amelia: Thanks for sharing the name. They have these all over the golf course, but most of them are all green. I just love the splash of red in this one.
Yep, caladiums, they grow great in a shady flowerbed!
We had lots of these at our Ocala house...in red, white and just plain green. We called them Elephant Ears!
Glad to see you're out on the golf course.
Trouver des coeurs c'est toujours chouette. Déjà de retour... C'était bien ?
that´s a nice heart :)
You already got the name. We used to have them but the frost got them and we never replanted.
Thank you to Amelia for the name. They're found all over here but I never bothered to find out what they're called. ;)
Welcome back! Glad to hear you had a good time.
very very beautiful heart... :)

Simply beautiful and the perfect color too.

What beautiful hearts! I really love their deep red color - I don't know if it's because they are in the shade, or because they just grow that way ... but your hearts are BEAUTIFUL!
P.S. - Welcome back - I'm glad you had a good time! Lookin' forward to some photos!
