Mississippi Dome: Part Two

This is the dome on the old state capitol building of Mississippi. This building was used by the state congress, senate, supreme court and the governor until 1903. It's now on the national register of historic places and was recently restored and refurbished as a museum. To learn more about the old capitol, click here.

I also have another capitol building up on my travel blog.

It's so strange that you have two capitols, but if I think about it is quite common even here with similar buildings...

What amazing amount of detail. Beautiful picture, that demand to be seen for quiet a while. Please have a good Thursday.

Shucks. Your capitol dome has so much more depth than my (Oregon's) capitol dome. I'm jealous.

Exquisite photos. Both of 1 & 2.

Thank you for your comment on Quartz Mtn Resort - I'll have to post a photo of the buildings - rebuilt quite nicely. I think it's so cool that we've both been there at one time...unexpected.

Modern "architects" seem not to know how to design beautiful and elegant buildings like this. «Louis» is pleased to read that this building has been preserved and restored.
