The entrance into the former Madison-Ridgeland High School. The building is now owned by the city of Madison and is used as a "cultural" center. I don't know of any cultural events that actually go on here and a local theater group was denied usage of the old stage area. But I guess we must at least put up appearances of supporting culture and the arts.

cela fait plus penser a une entree de boit de nuit que d'une ecole ;o)
Anything in the name of art?
At least one can pretend one has culture. LOL
Regarding Dutch cooking: It seems to similar to German cooking--lots of cabbage and sausages but the bakery goods are very good. Also similar to german food. At least I thinnk so.
Why I've missed your blog I don't know but I scrolled through and your pics are lovely. MB
Looks a bit like the entrance to a mansion of a movie star.
Beautiful :)!
Even here too many cultural centers are that only in the name....
Must be extremely cultural then.
I suppose those administering public support for culture will need some office premises as well but if it's an old stage that doesn't make a lot of sense.
Olivier me fait rire. Je trouve cette porte assez fascinante, j'ai du mal à voir les reliefs au-dessus mais j'aime bien.
Merci pour le renvoi vers VDP.
That is soooo funny. I wonder why the theater group was denied usage? Silly stuff!
Hope you're having fun with MiL!
A place breathing history indeed. Thanking you very much for your kind words, wishing you a good Thursday.

Neat doorway... turning old buildings into art and culture places= a good thing!
Per: There are no offices in the building either. The only event I could find going on there is a weekly karate class. :S
Jacob: The mayor of Madison (the village where I live) is very strict. I guess she doesn't like theater for some reason. Ah well.... maybe someday we'll have a new mayor and something will change.
