Unknown Soldier

Mississippi's take on the tomb of the unknown solider. I have never seen the one in Washington, but I think this is a nice tribute. It stands in the courtyard of the War Memorial Building. It's an old Art Deco style structure built under the Works Progress Administration. I'll show you more this week.

I suppose there must be many tombs of unknown soldiers around the world. And many more soldiers buried in unmarked graves.

This looks like a fine monument honoring all who gave their all for our freedom.

We look forward to seeing the upcoming War Memorial photos.

Yes, that's nice. The building next to it reminds me of our post office. I'll be looking forward to the Art Deco.

Looks like a special memorial place! We are finally dedicating a new memorial site in Eagan later in October!

Isn't that the large, square gray building on the corner of State and Woodrow Wilson? I've always loved that building. I'd love to see some more pics of it!

A fine photo of a fine memorial...it's just too bad we have so many of these memorials...but from what I've been reading, it looks like we may be in for perpetual war! Ugh.

I tried twice to comment on this post but Blogger keeps eating my comments!

Whatever each of us think about wars, we do need to celebrate and remember the soldiers.
