Elephant Detail

Another detail from the Hindu Temple of Jackson. Elephants are one of my favorite animals.

Very good detail. Did you know that elephants mate for life? I think that their social organization is fascinating, and one to be admired. My very favorite animal.

They are an interesting animal. They do mate for life; I think this adds to their mystique.

Mine too. I love them almost as much as I love dogs. If I had room I would rescue one from a circus.

I also love to paint and draw them. I have carved them out of walnut wood but each time I do they end up being sold or given away. I don't have one at the moment but I have two big chunks of basswood that would make nice big wooden hand carved elephants.

I'll chime in and say mine too! I don't know why, but they just pull on my heart.

I've always thought elephants were big, clumsy and dangerous. Maybe not, though, from what I'm reading in the other comments.

This is a beauty of a carving...
