A photographic look at life in Jackson, Mississippi and the surrounding area
Wonderful details, I love the colorful stones!Léia
superbe ce masque, les couleurs sont magnifiques
This image surprised me when I saw it on your blog. If you have Indian festivities you must have a sizable Indian population in Jackson...am I right? Durga is another of the many Indian gods and goddesses. Hinduism is an interesting religion! The detail on your photo is super.
She is beautiful and so is your picture!
Beautiful piece of art.
This is beautiful. The "dude" wouldn't let me take pictures when I visited the temple! ;-)
I was just going to say what Lois said. So ditto.Love the colors too. MB
@Kate: There are not many Indians but enough to have some of these festivities once in a while.@Halcyon: This is not from the temple. It was a private function in a clubhouse. The Priest is not supposed to allow anyone to take pictures of the idols in the temple.
It is beautiful. Kate's question was mine, so you have answered it.
Beautiful. I've always been drawn to the arts and culture of India.
Very eye catching shot. I'm very fond of Indian art, but I think you might already know that. :-)
