Madison County Building Codes

Madison County building codes require that all buildings have brick facades, or at least have bricks somewhere visible to passersby. This requirement leads to offices looking distinctly residential.

are there any older buildings not made of brick?

Bricks predominate here but other materials make for variety.

Hip, hip, hooray! My hometown is Jackson, so your posts look great to me from way up here in Portland, Oregon.

In Hinds county, where the actual city of Jackson is located, there are different types of facades. Since Madison County is so new, pretty much everything is brick since that's what the city planners have chosen as the Madison "look." Although the houses do sometimes have rock or stucco accents. Not so much on office buildings though.
