Ridgeland Water Tower

I love the French word for water tower, chateau d'eau (a water castle!). It sounds much more elegant.

Water towers are a big part of the American landscape. I'm not really sure if they actually contain water, but every town has one. Ridgeland is where I live and I hope to eventually post pictures of all the local towers. I guess that will be a challenge for me in the New Year.

That's a huge tower! Looks a lot different from ours.

Thanks for the link! I had no idea that water towers actually perform a vital function.
