New License Plate

When I first moved here I tried to Halcyon as my plate, but that was already taken so I compromised with Halcion.

We recently got new license plates. I really liked the old one with the magnolia better. I'm not sure what a lighthouse has to do with Mississippi. The only positive is the colors go with my car better (it's a blue Beetle)!

I'm not sure if I should change my profile photo or not, any thoughts?

I like the lighthouse better. Its not as girly. The clouds look nice on it also.

It's the famous Biloxi light house that survived all the hurricanes. I'm not sure why it's on the license plate except that maybe it's because people have talked about it so much since Katrina.

waouhh..belle plaque avec le phare. Je regrette en France, le type des plaques est standard, on n'a pas le droit aux fantaisies.

waouhh .. beautiful plate with the lighthouse. I regret to France, the type of plates is standard, we have no right to fantasies.

while I prefer the lighthouse, I think the magnolia is more appropriate. Are there lighthouses in MS?

I waiver as to which you should use for your profile.

I guess there is some famous lighthouse on the coast. But who thinks of lighthouses when Mississippi is mentioned? And I bet there are probably people out there who don't even know we have a piece of coast! I think the magnolia is much more appropriate. But I will probably change the picture anyway. I do think the colors are nice.

We have no vanity plates in Switzerland, but there is a very strange thing involving the numbers on the plates. Lower numbers are coveted. It used to be that a smaller number indicated that you got your license plate a long time ago (ergo, the opposite for higher numbers) and there was/is some strange (to me) status issue involved with that. The other thing about the plates is that they're tied to the person rather than the vehicle. So, I know a couple of instances where the drivers have two cars but only one set of plates and they switch the plates when they switch cars. Different rules in different places!
