Welcome Home!

The men and women of the 113th batallion received a warm welcome home from Siemens employees yesterday morning. The 113th is a National Guard Military Police Unit. These soldiers were coming back from their third tour of duty in Iraq.

They drove down highway 49 on their way to a tickertape parade in Pearl. About 30 of us went out to show our support. Although I am anti-war (especially this war) and not particularly patriotic, I do feel we should show our thanks to the people who willingly sign up for the Armed Services.

Here's a short video of the procession which included a police escort and the Harley guys who ride for veterans.

Sorry, I just realized there was the video and I played that and got tears in my eyes. You guys all did a good job in your welcome home for them.

neat post, and i'm right with you on this war, but still support our troops... i've seen groups greeting returning soldiers down at dfw airport, and it is good to show them respect and thanks for volunteering to defend us. I have to say - that audio startled me when i played the video, i had my volume way up =) cool video too, btw

Agree with your post. . .I am anti-war, but I support those men and women. We see a lot because of Ft. Campbell's proximity to Nashville.

I am very Anti-War, and I always feel that people should be able to resolve issues without violence or killing one another... and I do not consider our country to be a "Free and Equal Society". However I also do support the brave men and women who fight for our freedom that we do have, because it could be much worse, and for ultimate protection from the evils that could be.

Sorry if the video was a little shaky. I was waving my flag in my other hand. :) I'm just glad it was watchable.

It was a moving site to see the faces of the people in the bus light up when they saw us. There were signs and banners up all the way down highway 49. But I think we were the only people outside.

Thank you for being there to welcome them home.
They do, indeed, need to know we appreciate them serving.

"Louis" has a difficult time understanding all the modern Neville Chamberlains, preaching 'peace' and who fail to see the danger we are in because of radical Islam.
