I believe these peaches are from Alabama. The fruit stand I patronize gets its fruits and veggies from local farmers and neighboring states. I'm not too keen on peaches actually. I much prefer the smooth skin of nectarines. I also think the white flesh peaches/nectarines are tastier. They don't have those much at the stand though because they are more fragile and can't stand the journey.

I'll have 'em! Our Farmers Market sells only locally grown food...no imports. This has both advantages and disadvantages. Peaches are really quite wonderful to me!
I can't get enough of them and these look simply delicious.
Yes ma'am, those beauties must be from Alabama! I have posted more than enough peach photos on my blog. Love your perspective on this one! Yum!
I can still support a stand that sells fruit from neighboring states. Alabama is really not that far from Mississippi. It's not like the fruit is being picked weeks early and transported from Mexico.
I so agree with you about the white fleshed peaches and nectarines. Nice shot and so many of them!
Locally grown can certainly refer to the state next door, especially when it means picked at the proper time. These peaches and the watermelons look delicious. Is this the market near the intersection of Old Canton and Lake Harbor?
I like the new look of your blog. The photo of downtown is very good. Did you take it from the AmSouth Bank on Capitol Street? Or is it even AmSouth any more? Seems like my aunt told me it was Regions.
Lynette: It is the fruit stand near Old Canton and Lake Harbour. They actually have a physical structure now and they accept credit cards. Things are modernizing here in Jackson. :)
The picture was taken from the University Club which is on the top floor of the Regions building. It may once have been AmSouth, I'm not sure.
Question: Mississippi, Alabama or Georgia peaches, who is best?
belle nouvelle présentation de ton blog. Un superbe étalage de fruits, c'est la bonne période.
