Two Years Old

Today my blog is officially two years old. I wasn't always sure I'd be able to keep up with the CDP challenge. But I'm glad I have especially for all of the virtual friendships and voyages. In celebration, I'm posting a picture of a beautiful juvenile cardinal who loves to feast at my feeder.

Here's a look back at my first post. I hope there will be many more to come!

And some bonus woodpecker footage!

Bon anniversaire !Il est beau ton cardinal, j'adore cet oiseau depuis que j'en ai vu "en vrai" en Virginie ! Les melons de ton tout premier post, on dirait des obus !

These birds are native to North America. For Europeans, they are sort of like parrots or something, but they're very common here. I see them almost every day. And they usually stay for the winter.

I hope so too! Happy blog birthday!

I was wondering why the portal yesterday said that it was Halycon's birthday and that you were two! Got me mighty confused until I saw your announcement ;)

Thank you for sharing Jackson with us! If it weren't for your blog, I doubt if I would even have heard of it from here. Looking forward to many more years of photos from you.

I don't usually comment, but I read every post and enjoy so much seeing the city of my youth (especially Fondren, which has really come along!)through your photos.

Oh, congratulations on this important anniversary! You are such a faithful blogger AND daily commenter on others. Love the photo of the adolescent cardinal, one of my favorite birds esp. since it's so common around here and I get to see that flash of red quite often to brighten my days.

I haven't been faithful about blogging and commenting lately because we decided to paint every room in the house, both ceiling and walls. What a job, and we've just barely begun; it takes longer than we had thought. But I'll be back sporadically!!

Sorry if I am a bit late for your second 'birthday': congratulations and my best wishes for many more years of beautiful photos.
Love your first post, I have one of that just in my fridge for this August afternoon!
I read your answer about the wonderful cardinal and I feel so sorry we have only b&w pigeons and gulls.
