I believe a family of bees has moved into my bluebird house. I've seen them flying in and out quite a bit lately. At this point I guess I should be happy that anyone lives there! We may have to modify the terms of their mortgage though.

Sure hope the birds don't return.

As long as they aren't those killer bees then I guess it's OK. I would be happy if anyone would move into mine too!

This one looks like a bumblebee but it is really a carpenter bumblebee and the ones flying about usually are bringing the one digging the tunnel in the wood, something to eat. They can made a perfectly round hole about as large as a dime and can turn at right angles. It is amazing. The ones flying about do not sting. Only the one making the nest will sting and they seldom come out or are seen.

I enlarged the picture and think that is what it is.

I saw you commented twice. So I came back to comment about your comment about the fireplace.

Mom always told me if you are going to open your mouth and speak, "Say something meaningful."

We have thought about getting a set of gas logs installed. The neighbor did. It cost him $800.00 installed. But, he pushes a small button and that ignites the logs and he only has to leave them on for a few minutes and it takes the chill off of the room. That's what I wold like.

Buzy Buzz Buzz! Are they honey bees? Or good old polinators. Either way it's a good thing.
I say lower the rent. LOL

Your roses are beautiful. They are just soggy here. MB

B Squared: I don't think the birds liked this home. It was either the squirrels or the mortgage terms that kept them away. Debate is still on about that.

Abe: I am not worried about them stinging me. They are welcome to nest in my yard. I like bees, it's the wasps I want to keep away.

Lois: I thought killer bees were only an urban legend. They seem pretty nice so far. :)

The world needs bees, but it's not nice to be stung. It's a question, sometimes, about how close you want them. I wonder if they'll fill the birdhouse with honey.

It seems honey for mortgage payment would be equitable - just don't ask «Louis» to harvest the honey!

This reminds «Louis» of the honey sold in the gift shop of l'opĂ©ra Garnier in Paris made by bees living in the toit of the opera house.

Honey would be a nice tradeoff for the mortgage :)

Absolutely! Modify! Bring those bees to their knees. The nerve!

I wouldn't be happy of this, I am not so fond of bees...

Interesting post and feedback today. Carpenter bumblebees? Never heard of these. I learned something here today.

Sure beats Google Buzz!

If bees move in that's a good sign. I've been told they're very picky about their environment.
