Colibri

I have two little hummers that constantly buzz around my backyard. It's funny because one will sit here on the hook and guard the nectar, but he'll only take a few sips every now and then. They're not shy birds by any means. They will buzz around my head when I go outside to fill up the other feeder or to water my flowers.

This photo was taken with my Nikon D3000, not the Wingscapes. I took a few through the window and cropped them down. I'm very pleased with the result. The only sad thing is there's no size reference. In reality, this guy is only about two inches long, a really tiny fellow.

Please stop by Bird Freak to see more of our feathered friends from around the world.

I'm making some Hummer food as I'm reading this. Love the little guys.

A darn good shot! Our daughter out in Colorado has them flitting all around her feeder, too. Lots of fun!

And you are so funny! If you've "heard" about Linda you definitely don't need hearing aids. Yet.

A great photo and such a beautiful little bird. We don't have anything like that out here in Australia.

He really does look larger than a couple of inches. Nice shot.

Nice photo! It looks a little out of place somehow.. - maybe cause one doesn't see many photos of sitting hummers.

Well done! It looks like a female Ruby-throated Hummer to me. I call them the jewels of the sky. They are so much fun to watch!

Oh good shot. It is always fun to have them flitting around. Neat to capture one not in flight. MB
