November Theme Day: Public Transportation

I have shown you Jackson's bus service, the JaTran, before. Now here's a look at the only other form of public transportation that passes through my city, the Amtrak train. You can take it to Memphis or New Orleans. I have taken it myself once and it was a comfortable ride. I'll show you more of the station itself later this week.

To see how other bloggers have interpreted today's theme, please take a look at the CDP November theme day page. I also have some bonus public transportation shots on my travel blog, enjoy!

Nice shot.
Just last November Stanwood built a Amtrak station as the train roared through town anyway. It comes and goes twice a day. MB

A good train system linking Manila to other provinces is something that we're still waiting for here. One project to the north was supposed to be finished by this year, but it didn't even get started properly because of corruption issues. Sigh.

I want to take a few weeks off work and take a train across the country. I think that would be fun.

I love riding the train, but I haven't done it since I was a kid. We used to have Amtrak service here, but it stopped after Hurricane Katrina and hasn't been seen since.

It's fascinating today to see the very different types of trains around the world. this looks comfortable!

I'd love to hop on the Amtrak someday - not done it yet. It stops in St. Paul, just 15 minutes away by car.

The Amtrak is something I have seen only in movies. I'd really like to try it...

Looks like a double-decker to me.

An iconic train - I'd love to travel on this. You must be able to see for miles, sitting so high up.

Good choice for today! I've never been on an Amtrak.

I love trains! Of course the Amtrak train! I didn't participate in the theme this month because all we have are public buses. But seeing your photo I remember (now) that we've got Amtrak - darn it!

I like Amtrac trains very much. I'd like to go with it during my next stay in the US. Is it a double deck train?

Thank you for visiting "Stuttgart Daily Photo" and commenting my post for November theme day.
