Another Heron
I know I said I was trying to get away from the nature theme, but I just couldn't resist. These birds are such beauties. Apparently white herons are called egrets. You learn something new every day!
I didn't realize how much I've missed seeing these birds until I saw your photo. Often one would fly across my bow--I mean the front of my car but that didn't sound as neat--when I drove across the spillway. Sometimes it would be a white one, sometimes it would be one of those grayish-blue ones. I always wondered where its friends were waiting.
I LOVE herons. They are one of my favorite birds and it's really such a treat to see them on a daily basis. I live near a pond and they are often out there, looking for fish to prey upon. There are also quite a few at my golf club. There is one blue one there that is amazingly beautiful, but I never have my camera when I see him! He lets you get amazingly close as well. Hope I'll catch him one day!
