Memorial

This memorial is located in a small park near a Jewish school. It was created to commemorate the families who were rounded up on this spot before being sent to death camps.

The inscription ends with "Never Forget."

When I saw the thumbnail on the City Daily Photo site, I knew what it's subject was. Apparently it gets the message across very well.

Yes, a moving monument and a good reminder. Sadly, recently it seems as if the fringe who deny the holocaust ever happened are getting more press than they deserve.

Unfortunately, if there's one thing we can learn from history - it's that we never learn from history.

I agree with per stromsjo. . . .sigh.

One of my husband's neighbors growing up was in two of the camps. Her mother and brother died in them. She survived and married a guy who escaped Norway by bicycling over the mountains to Sweden. Both came to the States and married. He ended up serving in the Army as a doctor.

This memorial is very important, and as they say, we must never forget.
