Vibrant Colors

I thought about using this photo for the August theme day, but I thought the Bugs were cuter and I knew this would also be nice for a weekend reflection.

And tomorrow is the big day when Jackson Daily Photo turns three. Please stop by for a special blogiversary post.

Pink Skies and Cows

Nothing beats a sunset, especially when it's over a field of cows!

PS: Only three more days until Jackson Daily Photo turns three. Stop by this Sunday for a special blogiversary post.

Devil's Shrimp

I made this dish for my husband last Friday for our anniversary. It was delicious! In fact, I'm craving some more just writing this. Here's the recipe.

Red Doorway

I've always wanted a red door. This one's not bad. It'll take you into one of the stores at The Renaissance shopping center.

Pink Blooms

I love some good landscaping at the shopping center. This pink blossom comes to you from one of the many planters at The Renaissance. It's a nice place to walk around on a Sunday evening.

Hope you've enjoyed this blossom! To see more flowers from around the world, click on Today's Flowers.

Protective Father

We have some fledgling cardinals in our yard these days. Daddy never lets his charges stray too far though. He always keeps a watchful eye over his brood.

August Theme Day: Bright Bugs

The Halcyon bug made a new friend in the parking lot!

Mexican Reflections

Reflections in a table at Margaritas restaurant. It's one of my favorite places to go for Mexican.

Trees and Moon

A blue sky contrasted against the green trees on Patrick Farms golf course. If you look up, you'll also see an almost full moon up there.

My sunset from Salvador de Bahia is today's guest photo at skywatch. Please click on the Skywatch link and check it and all the other beautiful skies out.

Confidential to my husband: It's been a great three years, I hope there are many more to come!

Strange Bug

A strange looking insect I found on one of my pots. He was not disturbed at all by my constant clicking. I'm glad the weekend is almost here. I'm still trying to think of something fun for the August theme day though.

Stuttgarter Traum

A real dream car, right here in Jackson, MS. It definitely has a nice hood emblem.

Sweet Blue Man

A cute little bluebird. This photo was taken in February when they stopped by in my birdbox. Sadly, they didn't stay - but at least I had some friends for awhile.

My Neighborhood

The entrance to my neighborhood. This photo was taken back in April when the azaleas were in bloom. Such beautiful flowers, next spring seems so far away!

Cart Bridge

Another small golf course bridge. This one is from Patrick Farms, it's just south of Jackson. We played this past week with a friend of ours from work. It was a nice course and we had a great time. I'd play there again!

Shadows on Shell Landing

Another one from the vaults. This is Shell Landing golf course which is down on the coast of Mississippi. It was a beautiful course and a lot of fun to play.

Unfortunately, there won't be time to play golf in Austin. I hope my game won't suffer from the break.

Light and Shadows

Dusk on the golf course. A beautiful time to make the turn.

Happy Friday everyone! I'm headed to Austin this weekend. It's a quick trip, but it should be fun. To see more skies from around the world, click on the Skywatch link.

Welcome!

A lady I work with recently had a baby. He arrived a few weeks early, so he actually got to be included at the shower. I picked out this cake, it looked (and tasted) good. And sweet, little Braxton got a lot of love from all the work ladies.

Grass Snake

I don't really know what type of snake this is, but he seemed to enjoy my lawn. He was lifting up his head to get some sun. His head is on the left side, just in case you can't tell.

Fluffy Feathers

A mourning dove shakes out his feathers. Too bad we only got the rump view!

Glad

A newly opened gladiola from my garden. This one is red with white edges. Beautiful!

The Caf

The cafeteria at Mississippi College. I love those columns, they make all buildings look stately.

I'll be back from OKC tomorrow!

Smoking Benches and Reflections

Smoking is not allowed inside any public establishments in the city of Ridgeland. That's not a problem for patrons of Kathryn's restaurant as they've got these nice benches to take a break on.

And the windows of the restaurant include a bonus reflection of the parking lot. To see more reflections from around the world, click on the reflections link.

Cloudy Skies

Bright, cloudy skies over the golf course.

I'm flying out to Oklahoma City this weekend getting photos on a different golf course! Jackson Daily Photo will be on autopilot for a few days, but hopefully I'll find some time to take a look at blogs over the weekend. Hope it's a great one! Comfy Bench

A comfy bench to rest on while shopping in the historic Fondren district. We know how to treat you right in Jackson!

Heart of a Rose

This picture was taken in my mother-in-law's garden in Berlin. When I got home, I noticed the heart of this flower was heart shaped. Do you see it too?

What's This Then?

This inquisitive blue jay seems to wonder what this contraption is. Don't worry Mr. Jay, it's just my wingscapes camera and you look great!

JaTran

The JaTran is the only form of public transportation you'll find in Jackson. Unfortunately, it won't get you many places. The Jackson metro area is made up of three counties: Hinds, Rankin and Madison. The JaTran only runs in Hinds county, but if you want to get around downtown, it's an option. I've never seen many people on the bus though.

Bridge and Crepe Myrtles

A utilitarian bridge at the golf course with some lovely crepe myrtles in the foreground.

Grill Reflections

The reflection of the pool in the grill room's window. This photo was taken after the Firecracker scramble on July 4th.

Sunset on the Rez

The July 4th sunset. I took some pre-fireworks shots that turned out very nicely.
