Lofty

One of the more popular shops at The Renaissance shopping center. I think the orangey color looks nice against the sky.

Hope you had an enjoyable weekend. I'll be back tomorrow.

Bench for Sale

Reflections in a shop window with a nice bench for sale.

Watertower at Dusk

Nothing beats a pinkish blue sky. This one is set off by the Ridgeland water tower.

Happy Friday everyone! Click on the skywatch link to see more skies from around the world. I'm still out cruising the Bahamas, but hope you are enjoying my auto posts while I'm away.

Tunnel Vision

An outdoor corridor at the Madison Community Center. This building used to be an elementary school, but the city grew so much they had to build several new ones and this one was abandoned. It makes for some nice photos for sure.

Hope you are still enjoying Jackson DP on auto pilot.

Downtown

A side view of Hal and Mal's restaurant. It's a popular place to dine and be entertained in downtown Jackson. They have several different rooms where live bands play and sometimes even theater events are staged there. It's always a fun place to go.

Please enjoy JDP on auto pilot until I return.

Crisis?

The housing crisis seems to have come to an end in my neighborhood. Several new houses have gone up and most of them are sold already. But there are still a few empty lots, in case you want to build your dream home down here in Mississippi!

I hope you are enjoying Jackson Daily Photo on auto pilot. I'll be back soon!

Lady Fledgling

Hi there. It's me, the little cardinal fledgling who likes to visit your feeder. Thanks for all the seeds!

Smart Lion

I almost thought I had been swept away to Livorno when I saw this lion the other day. But then I realized I was still here in Jackson. I knew this because the lion didn't have a silly face.

I hope you are enjoying Jackson Daily Photo on auto pilot.

Reflections

This bench might be a nice place to sit and do some reflecting. Or you could admire the reflections in the window.

I'm going to be off for a week doing some reflecting in the Bahamas. I won a Disney cruise as part of a drawing at work and vacation time has finally rolled around. Please enjoy Jackson Daily Photo on auto pilot until I return.

Fancy Hotel

This Hyatt is quite new to the Jackson area and it looks pretty nice. The yellowish tint looks nice against the blue sky at dusk.

Junkie?

I've heard of plenty of addictions, but to bath products? I suppose it could be worse.

Picket Fence

A white fence marks the boundaries of the 18th hole on Patrick Farms. You'll see a substation in the background if you look closely.

Orange Faces

Some more lovely blooms from the Renaissance shopping center.

Juvvie Pecker

I got a few shots of this juvenile red-headed woodpecker at my feeder. They start out in black-and-white and later their head feathers molt into that beautiful, bright red. Eventually he'll look like this.

Happy Blogiversary!

Today is the third anniversary of Jackson Daily Photo. To celebrate, I've made a collage of 36 of my favorite photos, one for every month I've been keeping this blog up. Feel free to "embiggen" and enjoy.

I'd like to thank all my "readers" and "lookers" out there. When I first moved to Jackson in 2007, I didn't really know what to expect. But I've had a lot of fun discovering this city and sharing it with others through this blog. I certainly hope you've enjoyed this ride as much as I have.

Vibrant Colors

I thought about using this photo for the August theme day, but I thought the Bugs were cuter and I knew this would also be nice for a weekend reflection.

And tomorrow is the big day when Jackson Daily Photo turns three. Please stop by for a special blogiversary post.

Pink Skies and Cows

Nothing beats a sunset, especially when it's over a field of cows!

PS: Only three more days until Jackson Daily Photo turns three. Stop by this Sunday for a special blogiversary post.

Devil's Shrimp

I made this dish for my husband last Friday for our anniversary. It was delicious! In fact, I'm craving some more just writing this. Here's the recipe.

Red Doorway

I've always wanted a red door. This one's not bad. It'll take you into one of the stores at The Renaissance shopping center.

Pink Blooms

I love some good landscaping at the shopping center. This pink blossom comes to you from one of the many planters at The Renaissance. It's a nice place to walk around on a Sunday evening.

Hope you've enjoyed this blossom! To see more flowers from around the world, click on Today's Flowers.

Protective Father

We have some fledgling cardinals in our yard these days. Daddy never lets his charges stray too far though. He always keeps a watchful eye over his brood.

August Theme Day: Bright Bugs

The Halcyon bug made a new friend in the parking lot!

Mexican Reflections

Reflections in a table at Margaritas restaurant. It's one of my favorite places to go for Mexican.

Trees and Moon

A blue sky contrasted against the green trees on Patrick Farms golf course. If you look up, you'll also see an almost full moon up there.

My sunset from Salvador de Bahia is today's guest photo at skywatch. Please click on the Skywatch link and check it and all the other beautiful skies out.

Confidential to my husband: It's been a great three years, I hope there are many more to come!

Strange Bug

A strange looking insect I found on one of my pots. He was not disturbed at all by my constant clicking. I'm glad the weekend is almost here. I'm still trying to think of something fun for the August theme day though.

Stuttgarter Traum

A real dream car, right here in Jackson, MS. It definitely has a nice hood emblem.

Sweet Blue Man

A cute little bluebird. This photo was taken in February when they stopped by in my birdbox. Sadly, they didn't stay - but at least I had some friends for awhile.

My Neighborhood

The entrance to my neighborhood. This photo was taken back in April when the azaleas were in bloom. Such beautiful flowers, next spring seems so far away!

Cart Bridge

Another small golf course bridge. This one is from Patrick Farms, it's just south of Jackson. We played this past week with a friend of ours from work. It was a nice course and we had a great time. I'd play there again!

Shadows on Shell Landing

Another one from the vaults. This is Shell Landing golf course which is down on the coast of Mississippi. It was a beautiful course and a lot of fun to play.

Unfortunately, there won't be time to play golf in Austin. I hope my game won't suffer from the break.
